The ‘Tēgula 3’ composition arrived by playing with rotations of a set of rotated motifs. Tēgula is Latin for ‘tile’. Through tiling elements as my process I discovered new forms, created by overlapping them within a digital sandbox. The original tiling process comes from the process developed for ‘Codamorphology’ a show at Thistle hall, Wellington, a few years back. Woodcut tiles of different designs were placed according to the rules of Latin Squares, a mathematical visual arrangement of forms.

Each museum-quality poster is printed with multicolor, water-based inkjet printing technique that yields brilliant colour.
Preparing the work for display
Your poster will arrive rolled and needs to be flattened to place on the wall or in a frame; clean hands are advised and it is prudent to wear cotton gloves if possible. Carefully unroll and flatten on a smooth table face up. Make sure the surface is covered with blank paper (there should be some rolled protecting the artwork, and carefully place under a board such as thick card or plywood, larger than poster dimensions, for a period of at least 12 hours. Adding weight to the board, such as a stack of books, should help the flattening process. Tip: clear a large clean space and practice the process first, moving slowly and carefully to avoid creasing.
